Red, White and Blue Sampler

Quilt #35

Red, White and Blue Sampler
This sampler is probably the 3rd or 4th sampler quilt I made. It finally got completed in either 2005 or 2006. How do I know? It was displayed at our Guild's 2006 Quilt Show. So without a label that is my best guess. So much easier (and accurate) when a label is attached.

Block Setting

When teaching sampler classes, I make up blocks along with the students.  Small variations on previously made blocks help students visualize what can be done using any of the techniques.

Striped Eight Point Star

This star block is part of the Y-Seam (Set-in seam) Class along with the Attic Windows Block.

The Circle Wreath is from one of the Applique Classes,  buttonhole stitch on the leaves and how to apply bias strip for circles or curved stems.

Circle Wreath Block

The setting for this quilt is from Judy Martin's The Block Book.

It was long arm machine quilted by Marnie Mascioli of Calico Cat. The name of the quilting pattern is “Dizzy”.
